I had forgotten how funny PhD comics are:
First Law, Second Law, Third Law

Well, I had to go to Norwich and face the old Master (read supervisor) sooner or later. So I packed a copy of my spellbook (thesis) and my portable lab (laptop) and transported myself (via train) to the northeast to the old towne. Facing your Master is always a daunting prospect. Hi everybody,
This is the first post in my new blog. I am about to finish my PhD thesis, and am starting to look for a job. It will be interesting to see exactly how I fare in the job hunting business in a foreign country.

    Amusements

    Comic book series
    52

    "52" DC comics

What happened in the 52 weeks after the Infinite Crises? What happened in the 52 weeks without Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman? What happened in the weeks leading to World War 3 in the DC Universe?

    Books
    The Machine Crusade

"The Machine Crusade": Legends of Dune 2 Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson

The second volume of the Legends of Dune prequels, where the origins of the Dune universe as we know it are revealed.

    Music
    Elodia

    "Elodia" Lacrimosa

    A fantastic symphonic/gothic rock album.

Last movie watched in the cinema
    The Painted Veil

    "The Painted Veil" John Curran

with Naomi Watts and Edward Norton. Period piece about an English bacteriologist and his estranged wife living in the middle of a cholera epidemic in China. The music and landscapes are fantastic. It was quite funny to see both leads, particularly Edward Norton, kept losing their accents. And yes, the mother superior used to be Mrs. Emma Peel, once upon a time.
